New Blog

Check out my new blog at http://holasouthamerica.blogspot.com/ I'm writing about my stay in Buenos Aires Argentina.

I'm also starting to build a new website in exchange for Spanish lessons. That website is www.elebaires.com.ar but we just bought two new domain names: studyspanishinargentina.com and studyspansihinbuenosaires.com

Adios! Chao!

Argentina here I come!

I just ticketed my flight leaving New Orleans on Wednesday, October 4 and getting to Buenos Aires the next morning. I'll have wireless internet access where I'm staying, so I should be able to update this blog pretty often. Aidos!

A lot

1. I was really frustrated I was still living at home, and frustrated that my parents wouldn't support me starting the student travel magazine, Going Magazine.

2. My mom ended up in the hospital for a blood clot in her leg that the doctor was worried about because it formed unnaturally fast.

3. I left without telling anyone staying in College Station, TX for two nights, then El Paso for one night, then Phoenix, AZ for one night.

4. I finally talked to my dad when I got to Phoenix and found out that my mom had been diagnosed with an advanced stage of Pancreatic Cancer.

5. I went to Target to buy luggage and the biggest pair of black sunglasses I could find for the plane ride back.

6. Boarded a plane the next morning to Denver.

7. Met the mom of my friend (that I stayed with in College Station) on the plane from Denver to New Orleans.

8. Two weeks have gone by and I still haven't been able to meet with my mom's doctor. She started chemo yesterday, and haven't talked to her since.

9. I'm ready to leave again.

Some pictures will be posted soon of the westward journey, and an Oxford, MS journey to visit the grave of a really good friend who died last summer while I was in Europe.

My favorite song on the new Stroke's CD is "On the Other Side", but maybe I'm just being morbid.

I just watched the two hour Arrested Development finale, and I really hope they continue with the series AND make a movie, although they hinted that only the movie would be a reality.

A New Site Finished

I just finished most of artist Francie Rich's website at http://www.francierich.com/. Francie has some pretty neat paintings in the Art section.

It's built using Textpattern, and a modified template from textpattern.org. I'm still working on the blog section so that archives are easily views in the sidebar.

I'll be working on her husband John Hodge's website at http://www.johnhodgepottery.com/ next. I'll probably just use the same template with some different colors.

Finally, a Google PageRank!

Check my "future" page rank at SEOChat.com when I realized I had a PageRank of my own of 2/10. It seems pretty impressive since I don't think anyone reads this blog, and I don't think there are any links to this blog. But I'm still mad at Google for canceling my AdSense account because they said that there were invalid clicks at Going Magazine's website. Hopefully now this will increase the magazine's PageRank since it's still at 0/10.

Update: Now it's back down to 0. It's interesting that the page rank comes and goes that often...

Moving soon?

I really need to get out of this place. I'm ready for a change, and I may be moving to California in the next couple of weeks. This depends on money, people, and Going Magazine. I can really start and run the magazine anywhere, but I think it would help being close to Los Angeles. I wouldn't have to fly anywhere to be close to some advertisers, and if I did need to fly somewhere, there are plenty of options. Now, it can be very hard to fly out of New Orleans, and you must plan very far in advance. We'll see what happens...
