Poor recruiters. They must be getting really desperate now. Today, I got something from the US Army offering a free messenger bag if you join. Mmmm.... let me think about that. You know, that might be more appealing than the $70,000 for college after you serve, or a $20,000 enlistment bonus (both mentioned once you open up the card). Or "the chance to travel". Somehow, I don't think I want to travel where they'd probably want me to travel. A little 18 month vacation in Iraq anyone? And then there's "the chance to qualify for over 150 careers". I guess it's a chance because they don't want to guarantee you'll survive that vacation.

A night of nothing
So I really don't know what happened. As far as I knew, I was supposed to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday--that's only if I'm on the schedule, though. And after promptly showing up at six o'clock, I found out I was not on the schedule.
All was not lost, however--it was an all girls night, and sweet Kristy invited me to stay a while and eat some food. But now there's nothing to do, because I planned on working. Bye-bye Baton Rouge, I think I'm gonna have to ditch you tonight for my wife Abita Springs, or my mistress New Orleans. Oh what a decision...

Remembeing Tasmania, Australia
My feet in the crystal clear waters of Wine Glass Bay in Tasmania, Australia. This picture really makes me want to go back...
